    Amazing rack

Posted by Tanner A. on Dec 1st 2022

I’ve had dual Tomahawk’s on my vehicle(s) for FIVE years now. The same ones. I currently have them mounted on my MK7 GLI with OEM VW cross bars. Before that, these were on an Inno traditional square-bar rack on my Ford Fiesta and they lived on Thule bars on my van for a while. Point is, is that they fit any rack out there. These things are not super easy to take on and off, and they are heavy. So I tend to leave them on year-round. These things are amazing. I’ve had everything from Fat Bikes, 26er’s, my 29er, my 27.5 AND a 700c hybrid bike up there. It takes everything. I use these 1-3 times a week for 5 years straight. Still going strong. Just recently, I took them off, took them apart and greased everything and all of the hardware. 1 bolt snapped from rust, but that’s just my fault for leaving them on the car for years and not servicing them at all. Now they are greased up and clean and ready for another 5 years on top of my car. Love em.

    Key West - Caddy Run

Posted by Paul on May 30th 2022

I decided I wanted to take our two fat tire bikes with us to Key West from Savannah - about 10 hours with stops mostly high speed freeway. I wanted the option of being able to easily remove the racks after used but also securely lock my racks. I added a lock kit which has a single key for all 4 locks. It was easy to load up out 2 bikes and keep all our vehicle space free for the rest of our gear. I was able to monitor the bikes through the sun roof and even though it was a breezy ride - 15-20 MPH winds, the bikes remained tight. I don't like to haul gear on my car and this was an easy choice. I will enjoy using these for years to come. Thank you.

    Tomahawk

Love, love, love this bike rack! I have it on top of a Subaru STI and It holds up extremely well, even during quick accelerations. I’ve had it for six months now and have had no issues, rack has stayed on my car throughout the winter with no rust. I do occasionally spray the moving parts with wd40 to keep them working smooth. Planning on buying a second one soon!

    Perfect for the City

Posted by Danny B. on May 24th 2020

Don’t waste your money on the super expensive name brand racks, the TomaHawk is perfect for City living, because the mounts lock (sold separately) to your roof racks. In the City people will steal anything, so having the ability to easily remove tire straps and end caps is a nice plus. The installation Was quick and simple!

    Love the Ease!

Posted by Leah on Mar 11th 2020

I love my Rockymounts Tomahawks for the ease. I put two of them on my Subaru Impreza. It is so nice to not have to take off the front wheel of my bikes. The rack is quiet and fairly easy to assemble. This was my first time working with Rock Mounts and I was very impressed by their quick and reliable customer service.

    Mountain or Road

Posted by Red on Oct 26th 2017

I had fork mounts for the bed of my pickup for road bikes and love them. With mountain bikes I didn't want to deal with taking off the tire (because of disc brakes and muddiness) so I picked up some Tomahawks. Awesome racks that hold everything securely. Gets use for my light skinny tired road bike and my heavy steel mtb with 2.75s. Happy with the racks and super secure even while driving down forest roads in a not so smooth riding truck.

    upgraded

Posted by Joel O. on Aug 23rd 2017

I ordered two tomahawks, but as these were out of stock rocky mounts upgraded with brass knuckles. We have been very pleased with them and they work just as we hoped, attached to the existing factory roof rack on our 2010 toyota sienna.
