    Love this rack!!

Posted by Nicole on Sep 11th 2020

I purchased this bike rack after going through three other ones; this is far & away the best! I often bike with three riders and never can find a rack to hold just three bikes...so this rack had an advantage immediately. It takes a a little bit of time to put together, but the parts are packed well and the instructions are very clear. The rack is SO easy to use; it's super solid construction (I never feel like it's going to fall off the hitch or wiggle around much). I have a large dog I often have to load into my SUV, so being able to lower the rack with bikes ON it is awesome so I can put him in at the last minute. It's also very simple to load and unload the bikes...it really only takes a minute. The locking system is designed well also. I'd HIGHLY recommend a RockyMounts rack and best value for price!

Solid bike rack - so easy!

Posted by Josiah on Jun 9th 2020

This rack is big, sturdy, and awesome. Very easy to load bikes, and they are all secure. Takes about a minute to get all the bikes on or off the rack, so you have more time to spend riding. It can be a little cumbersome to take on and off the hitch, so we leave it on most of the time. Putting it together was intuitive with the colored stickers. The locking mechanism works well. Very effective for the price.

    Pleasantly surprised

I finally decided on this mount after reading multiple reviews and articles from outdoor companies reviewing dozens of hitch racks. When it got better reviews than the well known brands like Yakima and Thule, I was a little hesitant, but bought it anyway. One of the key factors was that it did not need an adapter to hold youth or women's bikes. The other perk was that it could easily tilt down to access the back of our Suburban, even when bikes were on it. When the package arrived, I was really impressed with how nicely everything was packaged in the box. There were pads preventing the metal pieces from scratching each other. The nuts, bolts, and washers to connect some of the poles were actually placed in a bag that was wrapped to the pole, instead of a large bag of assorted hardware like many assembly kits. Parts were even color coded! Assembly could not have been easier. I was super impressed with the sturdiness of it as well! We have taken it on multiple trips with it three bikes (two youth and one adult) loaded on it and had zero issues! Love it!

Best 3 bike rack out there

Posted by Mikeee on Apr 24th 2020

Over the years, I have had numerous 2 bike platform racks. Needed a 3 bike and wanted to stay loyal to Rockymounts and picked up the Westslope 3. As other reviewers have mentioned, it's a massive rack. Sticks out a bit from the rear of the car and a bit of a challenge installing and removing. But realistically any 3 bike platform rack will be just as big. The best feature for me is the bike at mounted at a angle and each bike (front to back) slopes a bit higher, so you rarely run into handlebar and seat interference. A little bummed the lock set is an addition add on. Realistically who spends $400 on a rack and won't want a lock. Include the locks with the rack and just increase the price.

Great Rack, Solid Build, Solid Price

Posted by Jordan T on Sep 12th 2019

This rack is great for the price, it does everything it is supposed to do and is well built. However, this thing is massive, it's not overly heavy, but man it is tall, when it is in the up position it extends over the roof of my crossover SUV. If that is not an issue to you, buy it, its great.

Great tray rack / great quality products.

Posted by Jeff on Aug 28th 2019

I've owned other product in the past but have had great experience with both my roof Rockymount and now this westslope 3. its rock solid and fits our 3 bikes (2 adult 1 child) really well . I really like how solid it sits and holds the bikes will driving The only thing I'm still trying to figure out a trick for is how to reach the blue release in order to lower the rack (while loaded w bikes) so I can open my tailgate.. At the moment my wife pulls the release while I raise/lower the bikes.. one huge advantage over other 2 bike tray racks is that for our family of 3 it allowed me to avoid having to buy a 2 bike + 2 bike extension; which was far more money.. FYI: I was filling up w gas the other day when another jealous dad (who had an older hanging bike rack) pulled up behind me and said how much he LOVED the look of this rack.. Kudo's to the RockyMount team...

    bikes fit well, sturdy design

Posted by Sam in Utah on Jul 10th 2019

I wanted the tray type instead of the hanging type and took a gamble on this rack. it shipped on tuesday and it arrive at my house in utah on thurday. assembly was pretty simple. all the tools were included, but i used my allen wrenches, and everything had good alignment and felt well made. it took about 20 minutes to assemble. it is an interesting design. the main frame has a slight rise. i did not understand why until i started loading bikes. after you load the first bike, the second bike sits higher than the first bike and has no interference with the handlebars and seat. i have used tray racks before, and pleasantly surprised how well the bikes fit next to each other. i loaded the third bike and it cleared also. the third bike does sit higher, so you do have to lift it higher than bikes #1 and #2, but it is well worth it. i did not like the fact that i had to buy the locks separately, i sent them an email asking abut this and they said it was a price issue and they want to keep a good price, i just use my own cable. during our trip, i could see the bikes out the rear window of my toyota 4runner, and they stayed in place over the bumps and corners. after about an hour, i stopped worrying and never gave it a second thought, the bikes were not going anywhere. when i buy things online, i always worry that some junk will show up, you never know what kind of snake oil companies pitch. this is solid and i am going to get many miles out of this rack.
